This iconic pistol has a distinctive design with a single-stack magazine and a short-recoil system. It served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States military for several decades. The 1911 is celebrated for its ergonomics, stopping power, and timeless design. Its legacy includes its widespread civilian use and enduring influence on pistol design and customization.

Be careful…..

…..….if you leave them alone in the safe too long.
Case in point - My SA .45 apparently took a shine to the cute Colt derringer .22 Short, and look what resulted:

These are great! Perfect little models. I bought this one so I could give my other one to my nephew. But it works out perfect cause the gold grips looked like crap on the silver one, but they look perfect on black, especially with the compensator.

My all time favorite handgun!!!!!!

Around 50 years ago I was introduced to the Johnathan Browning's amazing M1911 45 ACP handgun made by Colt. Over those years I used the platform as a component in NRA 2700 Match pistol competitions, then built a custom recoil compensated version for speed shooting. The collection contains original 1917, 1918 and 1842 era Government models. Now it contains the M1911 Goat Gun version...absolutely love it!!!!!

Excellent scale model

Being very familiar with the Colt 1911 A1 as a former Gunners Mate in the USN and an owner of this fine weapon, I proudly display it on my hero cabinet.
